A Modern Waterfall: Our Most Dramatic Project Transformation of 2019

Updated: Jan 10, 2020

. This project was a full-service remodel that involved a complete demo of the kitchen; remodels of three bathrooms; and the replacement of flooring, baseboards, trim, casings and crown molding throughout the house.

As we say goodbye to 2019 and hello to 2020, we wanted to take a second to thank our wonderful customers. Here at Maxwell House Painting and Contracting, we’re passionate about being in the business of building a community and making meaningful connections with people. Those are the values that are at the heart of everything we do here at MHP&C. Our team takes great pride in the work that we do, and we love being able to serve the communities in which we live in. To celebrate our customers, we wanted to shed a spotlight on this year's biggest transformation!

Our biggest transformation of 2019 can be found in Skippack, PA. Inspired by an existing piece of art featuring gorgeous blue and gold tones, our clients sought to transform the majority of their home into their dream space. Together, with their designer friend, MHP&C worked seamlessly to complete this multi-faceted project. This project was a full-service remodel that involved a complete demo of the kitchen; remodels of three bathrooms; and the replacement of flooring, baseboards, trim, casings and crown molding throughout the house. A beautiful paint job finished off the project, highlighting the tremendous amount of detail put back into the space.

When consulting with our clients, they expressed that their goal was to revamp their dark and dated kitchen into a bright, happy space with clean lines and no visible outlets.

When consulting with our clients, they expressed that their goal was to revamp their dark and dated kitchen into a bright, happy space with clean lines and no visible outlets. They also wished to increase the overall footprint of the space. Between the dining room and kitchen, a large cutout in the wall was created to enable light to flow through from the front of the house. It also doubled as a bar top to facilitate easy entertaining between the two spaces. The signature piece in the home was the custom backsplash of glass and subway tiles that provided an eye-catching waterfall feature behind the hood and range. This same mosaic glass tile was strategically carried through to the adjacent wall to enhance the newly established opening between the kitchen and dining rooms. Among the many stunning features of this space, none of them overwhelm the eye but instead exist harmoniously. This project included AlyseEdwards’ Iridescent Glass Mosaic in ‘Moody Blues’, countertops in Montgomery by Cambria’s Waterstone Collection, Decora Maple Cabinets in Prescott Style with Creekstone Gunmetal Glazing, new wifi enabled GE appliances in black slate, new Anderson sliding glass doors, COREtec flooring and a fresh coat of paint in SW6494 Lakeshore rounded out the bold finishes in this custom kitchen remodel.

Brighten up a room by selecting a classy shade of light pink such as Romance HGSW2067 by Sherwin Williams or First Light 2102-70 by Benjamin Moore

The clients continued this style throughout their home. In an adjacent powder room, they continued the use of the Montgomery countertop and cabinet color as the kitchen while also featuring a bold blue hue on the walls. Two elegant pendant lights over the sink reflect light like water droplets against the wall and mirror. Custom carpentry in the dining room which included crown molding, chair rail and picture frame boxes completed the major changes on the first floor. The two full bathrooms on the second floor feature beautiful custom tile details. The master bathroom’s custom shower stall features AlyseEdwards’ tiles, a combination of ‘Proud as a Peacock’ 12x12 sheets accented against ‘You're Not the Moss of Me’ subway tile. A floating vanity with double sinks, the Montgomery countertop, Grigio porcelain floors with travertine effects, new hardware, double shower heads, new toilet and all new lighting fill out the space. The hall bathroom uses the same Grigio floors, Montgomery countertop and AlyseEdwards’ subway tile as the master bathroom, but accents these materials instead with AlyseEdwards’ ‘Teal the Time Rings’ bars. The final renovations to this space included a new vanity, lighting and a fresh coat of paint to transform this beautiful space.

Khaki is back and it’s going to be more popular than ever in 2020. Both Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore featured hues of this classic neutral.

This professionally designed space perfectly reflected the exceptional taste and styling our clients sought to achieve. Our ability to bring our clients’ vision into reality was on display during this project. It was a joy to be a part of the team that saw this project through. We would like to thank our Skippack clients who entrusted us with their house remodel and to all of our clients for welcoming us into their homes in 2019. We know that you care about who you invite into your home and we are very appreciative of the opportunity to work with you. We wish you all years of health and happiness in the year ahead! Cheers to 2020!
